Primary Services Provided:

Fort Bayard Medical Center provides care for people who have a medical need and who can no longer provide care for themselves. Residents at FBMC include people with acute and chronic diagnosis such as behavioral problems, organic brain problems, personality disorders, diabetes, heart problems, cerebral vascular disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and atherosclerotic cardio-vascular disease. Skilled care is provided for people who need rehabilitative services or a higher degree of medical care.

In addition to full nursing care, and in-house physicians Fort Bayard Medical Center also offers Social Services, Activity Therapy, X-Ray services; Physical, Occupational, Speech/Language and Restorative Care Therapies, Case Management, Laboratory Services, Pharmacy, and Transportation Services.

Yucca Lodge is an inpatient rehabilitative program for persons dependent on Alcohol and other substances. Services include: Routine Physical exams, assessment of treatment needs, individualized client-centered treatment plans and goals, education, group therapy, individual counseling, relapse prevention, exposure to self help groups, medical/nursing care, family education and individualized aftercare planning/referrals.

Payment Options: Medicare, Medicaid, Private Insurance and Private Pay. No One is refused services due to inability to pay. Payment arrangements can be made with the Finance Office.

Where to Find Us: Fort Bayard Medical Center is located on the site of an Army cavalry post, in the Southwestern Foothills of the Pinos Altos Mountains of New Mexico. Our visitors travel on U.S. 180 and find us 8 miles east of Silver City, New Mexico. The road curves gently through a grassy tree-shaded landscape and past wood-framed cottages and stately two and three story homes.
